Jojoba oil – is a natural oil that can help to keep your lips looking and feeling healthy. It is a non-greasy oil often found in lip balms to help seal in moisture and treat chapped lips or other lip problems. The waxy texture of Jojoba Oil forms a protective barrier over dry or chapped lips to lock in moisture and leave them feeling soft and smooth. Jojoba oil contains many beneficial nutrients for the skin and lips, like Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect skin from damage. Jojoba oil also contains fatty acids and minerals that help to nourish the skin and keep it healthy.

Fatty acids are a type of molecule found in natural oils and lipids. Jojoba oil contains two fatty acids: omega-6 fatty acids and omega-9 fatty acids. Omega-6 fatty acids help keep skin hydrated and soothe irritated skin with their anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-9 fatty acids are also beneficial for the skin and help protect it from damage.

Castor oil – It’s rich in the monounsaturated fatty acid ricinoleic acid, a known humectant. Humectants help retain skin moisture by preventing water loss through the outer layer of your skin. Because of these qualities, castor oil can be applied to lips and skin, either on its own or as an ingredient, to promote hydration.

Its many benefits for lips include being an intense moisturizer, preventing chapping, and repairing damage from the sun and other elements. Sunflower oil is often used in lip balms as a carrier oil that creates a protective barrier and is safe to use on sensitive skin types.

Shea Butter – is a natural emollient, which can help soften the skin. This is especially beneficial for lips that are dry, rough, or cracked. The fatty acids in shea butter can help to nourish and moisturize the skin, leaving your lips feeling soft and supple.

Vitamin E – Vitamin E oil, usually used in lip care products, has humectant properties that hydrate, and emollient properties, which support the skin barrier. Such products like Vitamin E lipstick and Vitamin E lip balm can also help blood circulation, speed up cell generation and make the lips smoother, plumper and softer.

Peppermint oil – Has 40% menthol in it. Peppermint has a more peppery taste. Both Peppermint and Spearmint have analgesic properties which we want post-procedure. Peppermint is thought to be extremely effective in the treatment of cracked lips. Furthermore, peppermint’s cooling effect is excellent on chapped and sun-burnt lips. As a result, it is used as an active ingredient in lip glosses.

Peppermint essential oil is used to soothe inflammation, irritation and itchiness on the skin and scalp. It promotes wound healing.

Glycerine – gives the skin a refreshed look and aids in moisturization by drawing water from the deeper levels of the skin towards the surface layer of the skin and locking it in. That way, the skin obtains the necessary hydration to give it a fresher, healthier, and smoother look.

Glycerine has antimicrobial properties, such as bacteria and fungi, which protect the skin from harmful microorganisms that can cause many undesirable conditions and health problems.

Glycerine draws moisture from the surrounding environment (Think of glycerine as a sponge that absorbs water!). This water retention increases the skin’s elasticity and hydration. It also reduces the appearance of wrinkles, giving you smoother and younger-looking skin.
